hi all, just setup my rig

a64 2800+
dfi ut3 250gb
1gig corsair xms3200
r9700pro
wd 80g sata

i seem to have hit a wall :bang head: i can do 9x240 and 8x240 but i can't do 8x241? i have tried the following

ldt multiplier reduced to 2.0x, used 5/6 dram:fsb ratio, jacked up ram voltage, chipset voltage, agp voltage and cpu voltage (1.7V)

at 9x240 and 8x240 it runs prime95 all day long but can't even boot into windows at 8x241

i tried tweaking the ram settings as per one of the ram setting thread here but no luck :(

help please?

what sata port are you using? it seems with port 1 or 2 it's unable to oc past 240, but switch it over to 3 or 4 and it should be fine.

Xv,
great i'll give that a go tonight. thanks man

other ideas welcomed!

haven't tried it yet, but why would sata1 and 2 cause problems, when 3 and 4 wont? isn't the pci bus locked?

cool, learn something new everyday :p

thx for the welcome sentential

just got around swapping sata ports...

its now at 245 and slowly going up! :D thx for the tip
