Ok how does pcie sli work with the sli bridge? You have one 6800 in the pci-e slot and the other 6800 connects where?
Do you have to have a dual pci-e x 16 slot board or is that just the simple way of doing it?

Yes you have to have a dual pci-e 16x board. You cant just use anyboard for SLI. It has to be one specifically made for it. Right now there are no Intel boards out that support it. So unless you want to wait for one or decide to goto AMD your stuck with your setup.

I believe it was intels tumwater chipset that was the first board to handle sli, that was before the NV boards were even sent out to reviewers. The link you posted shows a navagation error btw.

Is SLI available on Intel based PCs?
Technically, yes. You can do an SLI system on the Intel 7525 "Tumwater" chipset based server boards which have two physical PCI Express x16 connectors on them (most limit one slot to x4 performance). However, these dual processor based boards require expensive server parts that are not appropriate for gamers or enthusiasts. Xeon processors, Registered DDR memory, and the boards themselves all add up to a hefty pricetag.
