has anyone ever tested both the 12.90 and 21.81 under W98SE and DirectX 7 using 3DMark2000? If so, which one did perform better?
thanks for helping.

I have DirectX8 and Win 98, sorry. But, my system got better 3Dmark 2000 scores with the 21.81 drivers compared with the 12.90 drivers. Both driver sets seemed very stable when overclocked. My system uses a P-III 700 @ 1050, PC-150 RAM, and a Hercules MX card. I've had the newest 21.81 drivers on my computer for a week now, no problems.

batboy was that too much better? do u remember how many it was?

im still interested on knowing about directX 7 systems.

thanks.

Yes, I keep notes of all my tweaking efforts. Remember, this is with 3Dmark2000. All the setting are left the same for the comparison, plus I rebooted between tests.

With 12.90 drivers, default clock settings: 5098
With 12.90 drivers, overclocked 200/200: 5560

With 21.81 drivers, default clock settings: 5241
With 21.81 drivers, overclocked 200/200: 5724

im wondering if under directx 7 the difference will be that much. id strongly like to use the new det xp but id also like to keep my card overclocked, what makes powerstrip a must (i dont really enjoy powerstrip).
r u using it to overclock, right?
thanks for all your help.
