Command Queuing

i just got my new maxtor today, and i got a question. Under device manager there is a checkbox for each drive labeled "enable command queuing" My harddrive has NCQ, so does this mean i should be able to enable it? I5t is ghosted out. Is there drvers, or can my mbo not support it. If my mobo cant support it, why is there an option?

maybe the drive doesnt support it, but the motherboard does. Or its already automatically enabled.

only nf4 chipset has true support of ncq

i thought i read that the nf4 was the only one supporting it. Dont remember though. I know that the drive supports it, and it isn't automatically enabled. I guess my mobo doesn't support it, but then why the checkbox?

well it may help but is not true unless nf4. I think it is semi ncq.

ok thanks. damn i wish their was an nf4 that had AGP, costs alot to get new mobo cpu and vid card all at once
