new cmos battery question

Everytime my pc loses power (moving it to a new location where i need to unplug it as an example) the bios get reset, Im guessin this is because of a bad cmos battery, my question is can i replace this with a battery i get from say radio shack? I was planning on bringing the old one in and getting a new one, just wanted to make sure this would work ok, never had to do this, thanks for any help

That is because of a low battery i think. May i ask how old the system is and what numbers are onthe battery? Here is this

Yes you can. Walgreens, Walmart and others are cheaper than RS. It is basically a watch battery.
