I'm a newbie overclocker, and I have a few questions.

Card:

XFX 6600GT with newest model fan and Arctic Silver 5, running at 500/1000.

1: What is the correct way to apply thermal paste?

2: What is an ok temp at default speeds?

3: What is an ok max temp?

4: What is the best way to overclock? (Coolbits, Powerstrip, ect...)

5: How do I test for artifacts and stability?

Some precise, easy to understand questions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

1; not much just a rice grain size just to cover the gpu!
2;i think 45c
3;not over 60-65c i think(lower is always better)
4;i like power strip, but coolbits would do the job just start on power strip get familiar and later you can switch to coolbits if you're not happy with it.
5;3dmark 2001,3dmark03,3dmark05
