is the 9500 pro better bang for the buck because u cna softmod to a 9700 or is the 9700 a better choice? just wondering?

Its a gamble with the 9500, it only has four pipelines and no guarantee of unlocking the other four. The 9700 already has the 8 lines unlocked. There cant be much of a price difference now can there? I guess it depends on whether you feel lucky.

The 9500PRO cannot be modded to a 9700, the pro is a 128bit/8pipe card, where as the 9700 is a 256bit/8pipe card. You cannot mod your ram. What are you refering to is the 9500np, which has 4 pipes disabled, and comes in 128bit and 256bit flavours. 128bit has a chance to mod to a 9500pro, 256bit has a chance to mod to a 9700np.
