does anyone know how to ping a ip or dns with .net

i want to feed in a file of names

and sort them into

not in dns

in dns but timed out

and in dns and responeded


any ideas?

Huh? I'm not sure what you're asking in the text, but going by your subject, you can ping (or virtually anything socket related) using the System.Net namespace -- for an example see this page:
