KVM idea

More proof I have too much time (and/or old PC equipment) on my hands :

I recently came across one of these (not the exact model; the one I have only has 2 ports and seems somewhat older). I was considering trying to convert it to a USB KVM (KB/monitor/mouse on I/O and two USB ports). The switching mechanism seems fairly simple; would "regular" KVM innards fit in this (it's about 4" x 6")?

I guess you could try it- I use a KVM that uses USB- works great- $35.00.

Why not just do it yourself? Like, make pins 1-4 be USB port 1, pins 5-8 USB port 2...

But anyways, I have a PS/2 Belkin KMV switch... It's considerably smaller than a CD; about the palm of my hand.

would that things switches work right with the signals? might be alot of pins in the plugs that arent even used, or are shorted together and stuff.
