Corsair Combatability in Dual Channel

Ya they will go in dual channel but don't run all four sticks. XP isn't set up that way and neither is any mobo. Sell the current sticks and put the new ones in. All you will do in getting more MB's is hamper the speed in which the ram operates. That will make a negative impact on your system performance and the size won't help.

oh ok - well that defeats the purpose. Zipzoomfly had that deal going for under $70 for the 2x512. Was hoping to double my system ram by adding in 2 more sticks. So if 4 sticks = bad idea...then ima stick with what ive got.

Ok run all four of those sticks and watch your system memory drop to a 333 divider right off the bat because they are all double sided. Then watch when you can't run 1T. Ya he will have more memory but he will drop back a couple of generations. He should just sell the current ones and get 2x1Gb that will clock alot higher than 4 sticks and he will be better off.

Ok. I haven't taken the time to look up that specific mobo but 95% of them out there will put a divider on the ram using 4 sticks unless the are all single sided. Some even does 2 double and 2 single, but that would be an even lower percent.
