K7s5a Hangs on Starup

So I fixed the fan problem with the forums help.
Now my computer is freezing just after the bios runs it check for a boot disk.
The screen says CD startup check......OK,
swithches to the balnk screen you normally get befor the Windows xp boot screen appears, and then nothing happens.
if I restart a couple times I eventually get the windows boot screen to appear but I am worried that I am gettting close the point where it will never startup.
this happend when I had win 2000 on as well.
Has any one ever had this problem?

also the comp runs the dual boot up screen saying ther eis a copy of 2000 on still even thought the drives have been formatted half a dozen times since then.
any help would be great.

You might try repartitioning the HDD and/or running A:\fdisk /mbr from a boot diskette to clear the master boot record of W2K residue.
