Hi everyone,

I have just noticed that both my CD drives have not been detected on my computer. I have had them from over 3 years and its now causing problems. I went to Device Manager and checked the status and it is in Code 39. Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.
:shrug:
I have tried looking up the drives on Memerox and Creative's website but both have been discontinued.

I have a:
CREATIVE DVD-ROM DVD1243E
MEMOREX 52MAXX 245AJ

How do I resolve this?

Comp. specs.
Dell Dimension 4500
Windows XP Pro.
Intel Pent. 4
768 MB ram.

Remove the UpperFilters and LowerFilters values completely from the following registry key...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SYSTEM | CurrentControlSet | Control | Class | {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

... or go to the following site:

http://www.dougknox.com/

... click on the Win XP Fixes link on the left, and then the Restore CD/DVD Drives To Explorer link on the RH side. Download the XP_CD-DVD-Fix.exe file, and run the VB Script if you'd rather not edit the registry manually. Afterward, use the following repair...

Autoplay Repair Wizard
