I just ordered a Leadtek 8800GTS which requires 26A on the +12V line. The power supply i have has 16A on one +12V and 18A on the other +12V. Will i have to get a new power supply? It is a "520"W.

Thanks all.

link to PSU or model and we can tell you, the most a gts is gonna take though is about 15 amps i would say though.

I believe I read somewhere that the 8800gts requires a combined 26A on the +12v line.

A 520w PSU with 34A on a single 12v rail is equivalent to a 520w PSU with 34A divided up into two rails (16A and 18A) so you should be fine with the one you have now.

yeah 26 amps for the card and an average system together...

the card can not physically take more than 150 watts, 75 from the slot and 75 from the pci-e, just an educated guess but at 12v I figure 15 amps at the most just for the card.

You won't be using more than 300w out of your psu to power your system with new card.
