i seem to get a real high chipset temp 50-55 degrees on load. when im idling its 47-48!

queer thing is all i been playing is warcraft 3 and sometimes my computer just locks up.

wondering if its due to the high chipset temperature.

i have my case open yet it gets that hot.. i mean my cpu doesnt even get that hot!!!!!!

can anyone teach me how to lower chipset temp?

or a reliable heatsink for the chipset?

thank u

You can start by reseating your stock cooler with AS5. That should lower it a couple of degrees. If you still aren't happy then you can get a cheap replacement cooler, like this one:

If you want to spend more money on something better, there are other chipset coolers out there that will work with the Ultra-D. (search OCForums for reccomendations)

Honestly though, your chipset temp is fine. Mine is idling at 45C and will get around 50C load. I think something else is causing your lock-ups.
