how can you clean a underside of a cpu? and the cpu socket on the mobo? i think my finger touched the under pad of my e6850 when i was installing it on my new mobo and its running hotter than it use to,i think its finger grease causing it? can you use rubbing alcohol and a coffee filter? or will that harm it? thx for any replys

Plain pencil rubber eraser, wipe/rub it gently, and finally don't forget to blow off those rubber debris !

.

wow really? and how about using any rubbing alcohol?

Don't use any liquid on those CPU pads ! Some of them might sip through those green CPU substrat layers, and also below those tiny capacitors which is difficult to spot and clean/dry.
