Prepare to hail to the king, baby. George Broussard of 3D Realms has confirmed on his company's official forums that a teaser trailer for the long (long, long) awaited Duke Nukem Forever will be released tomorrow around noon Central time.
Though the video is just a short teaser, Broussard promised more on Duke Nukem Forever is on the way. Along with the announcement came a single teaser screenshot of Duke.

"Last Saturday we had our annual company Christmas party. It was a lot of fun as usual but it featured one special surprise," explained Broussard. "It turns out that several people had been secretly working late nights and into the wee hours of the morning preparing a special video for those at the party. They created a short teaser for Duke Nukem Forever. After seeing the teaser we thought it was something we should share with all of you and while it's just a teaser, rest assured more is coming."

Broussard confirmed that Duke Nukem 3D voice actor Jon St. John is returning to play his titular role. This will mark the first new Duke Nukem Forever trailer since 2001; in honor of tomorrow's release, continue on to the full story for a stream of that classic, still-awesome video.

LOL! The screenshot looks great. I'll look forward to catching the trailer... but here's hoping they follow through with it and can actually deliver a finished product. :p
 
Duke what? Huh whats happening.. This can't come out yet since Forever isn't over ;)
 
well...while this does bring warm fuzzy feelings into the hearts of gamers....If they release Duke Nukem Forever...well...all the "Forever" Jokes will be done with.

No longer will the game be a running gag.

though, their pretty lucky. They won't need to spend a ton of money advertising this game. The game already has a larger than life fan base, and almost anyone who knows much about games, knows about Duke Nukem Forever.

lets just hope, that if they do get the game out...that the MANY MANY years they have had to work on this, that they don't screw it up. And for the love of god, the game had better not be full of bugs. or gamers will be VERY VERY P*SSED! you don't have a game in the works for that long, only to release a game that appears as if EA made it.

Naa, this is just another stunt to keep the jokes alive. It's been waaay to long :)
 
Yeah, Rickroll was funny like, 3 months ago, and even then it wasn't that funny. The only lame thing here is linking to a crummy internet meme.

Ten years? The BETA was supposed to be out ten years ago. The actual game was supposed to come out around 94-95.

Well thats false... DN 3D came out in 06. This game was suppose to come out in 01 which would make 10 years from when the first DN came out in 91.

You do realize that no game/program/OS actually has been worked on that long?

Chances are the project was probably started and restarted numerous times from scartch. No chance code that old is still efficient to today's standards.

I'd assume the current build has been in development no longer than any other standard game on today's market. Unfortunate, but most likely true.
