Currently, you can only use StreamMyGame over a LAN network, but it is being expanded to broadband in March this year

1920x1080 = 2073600 pixels per frame
32bits per pixel = 66355200 bits per frame
30FPS = 1990656000 bps = 1.85 Gbps

Have I missed something out here? Surely to make this workable (even on gigabit ethernet) there's got to be some compression going on. Would that not cause lag? Or deterioration of the image?

I am genuinely asking if I've missed something.

hmm i wonder why he used 800 x 600 as well
 
Considering 720p is 60 fps it comes out to 1.769Gbps thorough put to do this completely uncompressed.

Now, H.264 (one fo the best video encoding formats) encodes a 15 minute 640x480, 30FPS, 24bits down to ~5MB. However, it takes about an hour to do that...
