Hello all, I'm thinking about upgrading my video card from an 8800GTS (G90) to an HD4870 and have a couple of questions. The system I would be upgrading is the first one in my sig. I would also be upgrading my monitor at the same time from a 20" widescreen to a 24" widescreen (increasing my resolution from 1680x1050 to 1920x1200).

1) My CPU is an E6600 at 3.0GHz, if I upgraded the video card would there be much of a bottleneck from my CPU in games?

2) Should I go with the 512MB or 1GB version of the HD4870. From a quick look at newegg, the 512MB version is going for about $250 (after rebate) while the 1GB is going for $300, would the performance increase warrant the $50 increase?

3) Also, I'm pretty sure I won't have any PSU issues when upgrading, but just wanted to make sure my Corsair 620HX would be able to handle this.

Thanks for any input!

Crank that guy up to 3.5GHz or so and that should remove any bottleneck.

No reason to get the 1GB unless you're gaming at over 1920x1200.

Yep that PSU will handle a HD4870 just fine.
