the lowest youre gonna see an Ultra is 180-200$....so neither...the radeon7500 is a100$ card that crushes the G2 Ti and is pretty close to the Ultra for a very good price...and much better image quality....but for 160$ the Geforce3 Ti200 is probably a better deal offering high end performance for very low prices...

As Funnyperson1 said the 7500 is the better deal than a G2 Ti200 and a way better buy than a Geforce Ultra because the Ultra price is a joke. 7500 performance is almost equal but you get much better visual quality, dvd playback and TV out @ 1024x768. 7500 overclock well too

The Powermagic retail 7500 through pricewatch.com is $119US, good deal with same clk/mem speeds as retail ATI 7500. There are also some OEM ATI cards for $91-$96 US on pricewatch that I have heard good things about..... Chek em out to, sh8t for $91 you can not go wrong!!

If ya wanna spend more , like around $170 then get a G3 Ti200 or an OEM 8500.

The ultra is an oc'ed version of the GTS/Pro. The TI is the latest one and the best one of all.

Actually the Ti is clocked at 250/400
Ultra- 250/460
GTS-200/333
Pro-200/400

wince the GF2 is bandwith limited the Ultra is easily the best one there...

It is better to buy a GTS or Pro an oc it up to Ultra speeds than to buy an Ultra. The TI also has newer features than the others.

i agree...with a good pro or Ti you can easily achieve Ultra speeds....but the only new feature that the Ti has is a .15 manufacturing process...

Funnyperson: You mentioned that 7500's crush GF2 Ti's?

Looking for some1 with a Radeon 7500 to "crush" my GF2 Ti's 3dmark score. 5720!

I certainly don't deny the value of the ATI card, or the superior image quality and hi-res Tv-Out. I recommend the ATI card over any GF2 for those reasons.

Dotn be forgettign all those non-reference clones! for instance my Ti (which is in the process of being returned) runs at a 250 core and 333 mem - but it appears to eb a GTS so yeah - as for features the ATI is brilliant - TV out quality is excellent - but most people who have only used a Geforce2's will say go with a GF2.

GF3 Ti200 eh? Excellent - with luck you should be able to get Ti500 speed - Image quality is also good (not as godo as ATI but still good)...

Farewell.

i saw some reviews at digit-life and guru-3d where the 7500 beat not only the G2 Ti but the Ultra as well in 3dmark.....this of course is at stock speeds.....

If you're gonna buy a new card, go for the Geforce 3 Ti 200. The Ultra is overpriced and you can get the Gainward Geforce 2 Ti 500 at newegg for $136. I overclocked mine to 285/523. The Radeon 7500 is hard pressed to beat a G2 Ti in 3DMark 2001, where it does OK. But all reviews show in fps in all the popular games it gets beat pretty badly. Radeon 7500 is a good price/performance buy with nice features.

..

Well, If your looking for better performance, obviously the Ultra.

I Got a MSI StarForce Z81 GeForce2 PRO 64MB DDR W/ Tv Out
You can get one for about $120, 100 FPS Locked in any resolution, great card.

I am not very far behind you in the 3D Mark2K1 score with my 7500. Also there are 7500 cracking the 6000 pt mark or very close if I remember right.

Looking at your sig you havce a faster cpu, by about 300mhz , also it is an XP vs my T Bird pc266 that I ran at 1450 (10x @145 bus) vs your fsb of 152. That being said I would say I am pretty much equal to you , but I am sure I can get 5300 with the change of driver using the same overclock.

The 7500s do beat the G2 Ti200 when you use the same system to test each card. All reviews show the 7500 ahead and just behind the Ultra. Here is my link to my 5090 score

here is a good review of 7500/8500 compared to the other cards

Where are you getting your info from to say the 7500 is hard pressed to beat the G2 Ti200 in 3D Mark2K1??

All reviews/majority reviews I have read and found show the 7500 beating the G2 Ti200 in 3 D Mark 2K1 when both cards are tested in the same setup. The 7500 posts higher fps and much better image quality as welland can be bought cheaper. You can buy a Powermagic radeon 7500 for $119US through pricewatch and it comes with 290/460 clk/mem that can be overclocked in most cases to 340/570.

Here are some comparison reviews check em out. If you wanna drop about $50US more than the choice would be a G3 Ti200 or OEM Radeon 8500 for about $6oUS more that is a great deal.

If you read your link a little closer, it is as I said. The Radeon 7500 does well in 3DMark 2001, but is definately out gunned in the gaming benchmarks by both the Geforce Ultra and Ti. Not putting the Radeon 7500 down, it is an excellent card with good features at a good price, but it is not as fast as the better versions of the Geforce 2 chipset. My card overclocks to 285/523 for $136 shipped, but you can get the Geforce2 Ti 32MB Inno3d for $89 shipped on pricewatch, run it at 275/460 and still have an edge on the Radeon in gaming fps.

By the time we finish this thread....(i hope soon),we will be having the geforce4 in our hands to talk about.....:D
Things change fast !!!!!!! :burn:
