xfx 4890 only running at x8 speed???

I have just finished my firsst build, so i downloaded gpu-z and it shows my graphics card only running 8x speed.

I have an ASROCK M3A790GXH/128M

What did I do wrong?? It should support x16

Do you have it in the right slot? Presumeably the slot closest to your CPU? The green slot?

I've got it in the green slot, yes

Check for BIOS options to enable. Check CPUz and see if it agrees with GPUz.

cpuz agrees with gpuz, and in the bios I cant see anything to enable it.

Well do you have anything in another slot ? Also try another slot ,see if that works .

Yeh I tried with the blue slot yesterday, no display came up at all, my monitor stayed black. I've switched back to the green slot for the now.

I'm using W7 RC1, could this be the problem?
