Heya. I'm get'n the intel bug (never forget my e8400 experience) :D

Planning on laying out a system. just wanted some opinions.

My plan is an Monstor OC on a budget system, I game, but i'm not some hard core 300fps needer.) I play stuff like Global Agenda. and have been looking at the new COD/BF stuff.

Here's what i've picked out so far.

I already have a Corsair TX650 lined up for this build.. so solid power will be there.

Until i can afford a 6870 I will be using a GTS250(g92) , might grab another on the cheap until too just for fun :D

I game at 1920x1080 (lots for me starting at 640x480 stuff :p )

Wouldn't it be worth waiting for P67 and Sandy Bridge by the time you build this, as I believe it to be coming out Q1 2011 to replace Socket 1156.

I'm going to start buying stuff at the end of the month.. or next couple weeks.. whenever my bro buys my rig off me. I'm not concerned about the latest. Although, I haven been debating on just going with a 1366 and do it right the first time. may take me longer to get all the parts i want.. But i want to build a nice oc'er that will last me the next two years at least with maybe minor upgrades (minor as in components.. ram.. video.. ssd.. that kind of thing).

Okay, after looking at prices around.. almost 300$ for the cheapest 1366 i7

I may stick with the 1156, but go with i5/i7 in that flavor..

Okay, so I've narrowed it down, right now the i5-750 Lyn and the i5-655k Clark are both at the same price. Would there be any advantage going with the Clarkdale core over Lynfield ?

Also I've been catching up on what's what.. the i5-750 is a true quad core without HT, and the Clarks are true dual WITH ht?
