Question about Gigabyte [965P-DS3] CPU Support list for my board

I am looking to put in a core 2 quad (Q8400 2.66 G). When I look on Gigabyte's site for my board it lists the CPU and says "(Non official support)".
What does that mean?

My guess is that if you contact them with an issue, they won't be willing to assist.
What bios version are you running?
I'd go ahead and install it if you are running f14 version of bios or later.
