I have some general knowledge as to what pieces go together, but I would greatly appreciate any comments/constructive crticism on the following:

NZXT Phantom
Asus Crosshair V Formula 990FX
XFX HD6950 2GB
Phenom II X6 1100T BE
NZXT HALE90 850W (Is 850W too much? Will most likely be adding a second 6950 in the future)

One other question I had was on the RAM.

Corsair XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600)
or
Corsair XMS (Dominator) same capacity and speed.

Im also assuming that the stock cooler that comes with the 1100T wont be sufficient (I could be wrong). Any advice on cooling would be appreciated as well. Fans or water-cooling? The number of options and products are mind-boggling, lol.

That looks good.

Regarding the memory, go for the XMS3, as you can have DDR slots clearance issue with the dominator.

Regarding the cooler, I believe the cooler Master hyper 212 with a push/pull config is the best bang for buck.

Found some different RAM

Found some 1600 speed RAM for only $2 more :) Same manufacturer and capacity.

Thanks for the tip on the 212! Getting the Evo version.
