I don't really know what the OP is talking about either. But the Seagate software should not need any partition to work on the drive.
 
sorry I my post was vague. the hdd was not showing up in 'my computer' but it was showing up in the device manager. the manual said to install drivers or go into bios but in the bios there is no sata enable/disable button so i dont know why that would work.
 
maybe try and go to disk management and mark the drive as active?
ive never had to do that with a SDD but cant hurt to try.
