On the face of it, the obvious answer is RED.
But WHY?? Is the internal hardware physicaly different, or is it simply optimized firmware?
Other than the listed marketing efforts, WHY is the red a better option for 24/7 run time? What is the reason that Red is better?
I am reading that on the green drives you can change the head parking time, so that's eliminated (link)
For my server:
24/7
NON-RAID NAS
Extremely light load
Cool environment
Do not care about speed
No not care about sound
I'm not looking for WD's Marketing efforts repeated. What is the REAL scoop on why I should spend a 1/4 more of my cash on it? Or for my goals, are Green's fine?
