where i can buy thermal tape for paste my heat spreaders?
i have thermaltake memory cooling kits because no have thermal adesive tape
=(((
 
cant you use the clips that came with the cooling kit.

Or does the effectiveness of the Heat spreader go down?

You need SOMETHING to help the heat go from the chip to the spreader.

I used jay's method of attaching things w/o epoxy or tape. Just get some krazy glue. Apply arctic silver III to whatever but leave a bit of room on the corners for the krazy glue, then just put a drop of glue on the corners and apply the heatsink/spreader.

For the RAM, I would just leave a corner free on the leftmost and rightmost chip on the RAM stick, you don't need glue everywhere.

I like this idea better than epoxy because whatever you attach can be removed. Just put whatever in an anti static bag and stick it in the freezer for a half hour and the krazy glue gets brittle.
