Not just the extra 200mhz, it also has unlocked multiplier, and a better QPI. And also, you can just overclock the 965 to speeds that the 940 cannot reach on the same cooling.

Um.. I think he is talking about the 920 vs 940. They are virtually the same except for their "stock" speeds.
 
66Its nothing new. That is about what the difference was between the Q6600 and Q6700 and currenty for the Q9550 and Q9650. They certainly make you pay for the small difference but if didn't they would keep the pricing scheme.

i7 will not cause lga775 cpus to drop in price... they are 2 different sockets...
 
Sigh @ 940, complete ripoff.

Props to the 920 being very reasonably priced and obviously you're going to be paying 1k+ for an unlocked CPU with the highest clockspeed out atm.
