9800GX2 up and running

Did some testing and decided if I want to get my cpu past 3.6 I'm gonna need better cooling. Its wierd with the GPU set to 700/1850/1150 I get 18.3k in 3dmark at 3.4 ghz 18.5k at 3.5 ghz and 19k at 3.6 ghz. The stock cooling isn't bad either my temps max out at 65c when the fan is set to 100%

Update: Playing around with the FSB and some mobo settings. As far as the card goes, i couldn't bench @ 760/1200/1900. I completed 3d06 @ 750/1200/1875 but it was artifacting a bit.

I don't have any temp sensors for case temps anymore. The exhaust fan output is not terribly hot.

OK finally broke 20K 3d06. Took my 220cfm delta fan blowing on the card, and 3915 cpu clock.

I had one for less than 2 hrs over the weekend. I'm convinced mine was bad as it had many nvdlkm... crashing errors on a fresh install of Vista SP1. That and it hit 100C on both cores during 3D Mark 2006 with no overclock...shader scores were sad.

I may try again when Fry's gets the EVGA. BFG and their cardboard boxes for $600 video cards do not amuse me when EVGaA's packing form-fitting form.

Yep! Well, its been fun. I've listed the card on ebay. Its just too much video card for what i do with it. I can't game at any higher res then 1680x1050 anyway. I'm selling this (mainly just wanted to take advantage of the trade up), and going to go back to another 8800GTS. I plan to use the difference on some new hard drives (long over due, noisey, slow, running out of space)

Somewhere in the mid to low 20's I'd say.
Sits at 45c when idle at stock speed.

Hope to see somewhere around 28K with the card on air, and if it does that I'll mod it and get it nice and cold.

Rivatuner 2.08 doesn't seem to want to overclock my card, did you guys have to add anything to the CFG file to get it to work ?

well its not that its a bad card, its just that for guys willing to shell out the money they get the shaft every 2-4 months it seems. My buying habits have changed do to the shadyness of the market. waiting for r770, I hope its a AA monster at high res, I want an ATI card again. My gts 512 is quite sexy though to be honest.
