I imagine that the gigabyte 990xa should have no issues supporting BD out of the box.

I was just wondering i se so many threads everywhere requiring a bios flash and another cpu etc etc. I was jumping ship from a c2d and thought i would go with the latest and greatest but maybe a Phenom 2 6 core would be safer.

That board seems quite able to run the BD cpu out of the box.

I understand that but are the bios on board currently able to handle the BD without a re flash.
