* CPU Type: Q6600 @ 3.8GHz

* VCore: 1.400

* Max Temp: 65DegC.

* Cooling: Liquid - DD MC-TDX

* Situation: What program were you running, Summer or Winter, re-seated HS? Spring-Ambient 23DegC. Everest.

* CPU dead or alive: Alive and kickin.

  • CPU Type: P4 2.8 ghz
  • VCore: stock
  • Max Temp: 103C
  • Cooling: crappy stock
  • Situation: Bad seating of HS running prime95 in the summer
  • CPU dead or alive: alive!!!

Just for the hell of it I am putting my dead laptop on here lol.

* CPU Type: amd turion x2 1.8

* VCore: stock

* Max Temp: 139 celcius

* Cooling: crappy stock

* Situation: overheated

* CPU dead or alive: RIP poor thing...

  • CPU Type: P3 1.26S @ 1550 - 1600
  • VCore: 1.65v
  • Max Temp: 75-80 C
  • Cooling: Alpha PAL6035
  • Situation: fan failure while at work on the rig. Who knows how long it was running like that, but it was still soldiering on like a champ
  • CPU dead or alive: alive!!!

* CPU Type: c2d e6420

* VCore: 1,5v

* Max Temp: 68°

* Cooling: Thermaltake Tower 112 with 2 fans

* Situation: running orthos during summer...about 25C° ambient I think

* CPU dead or alive: Alive and still running hard

A few months ago my cpu requested a watercooling and I agreed.
So ist running cooler now.

*CPU Type: Pentium 820D @ 3.54ghz (pushed it to 3.92 under water)

* VCore: 1,55v

* Max Temp for more then a day: 69°

*Max temp whoopsy: 89C (was at this for maybe 4 hours)

* Cooling: Too long ago to remember... nothing incredibly fancy it was a coolermaster I think

* Situation: overclocked the snot out of this guy and kept it running just below 70C for several months until I finally put it under water. It folded as well as ran a CS server and a NWN server. For the whoopsy i went to class and came home and it turns out that i didnt push one of the pins in far enough... the alarm was going off like mad but of course no one was home and I had set the auto shutdown for 90 so it didn't get there by the time i got home

* CPU dead or alive: Alive and well running as a server and folding at home

CPU Type: Core 2 Extreme (QX6700)
VCore: 1.25v
Max Temp (core temp): 195F (about 90C I think)
Cooling: ****ty Zalman Reserator V2. Man what a bad decision.
CPU Dead or Alive: Alive. I haven't built my new computer yet, I still use this one every day. It reaches 190 on a daily basis, and has occasionally reached 195F.
Situation: Whenever it's under full core usage load, like when I play starcraft, or sometimes during counter strike source. (yes, starcraft does take a lot of resources even though it is from 1998... it's not the best optimized so it uses all available processor resources for one core at least)

I'm going totally overboard with my next computer in terms of cooling because as you can see my CPU is on fire

73°C 75°C C2D E6400 @3.0GHz running SMP_FAH 24/7 with stock Intel cooler.

It will get a new Freezer 7 Pro cooler and some 7Carot TIM this weekend.

Update: I'm now running a much more sane temperature of 64°C after the upgrade :thup:

cpu: Q6600 (B3 stepping)
Vcore: stock (just under 1.3v I think)
Max temp: 55°c/66°c (idle/load)
Cooling: stock hsf (ambient aprox 24°c)
Dead or Alive: alive and screaming for better cooling!

I'm too poor to afford aftermarket cooling at the moment so im still running stock. I tried an oc to 3Ghz just to see what it would do and it hit 95°c under p95. At that point I quickly shutdown the comp and put it back where it belongs.

CPU Type: Opteron 170 @ 2.7ghz
VCore: 1.525
Max Temp: 50c
Cooling: Danger Den TDX, Dual micro res + single micro, MCP355 + top
Situation: Prime95, summer, delidded core and reseated WB
CPU dead or alive: I hope it's alive somewhere since it was traded it away last summer.

Other than that Opteron I haven't seen CPU temps above ~45c

cpu: Q6600 (B3 stepping)
Max temp: 81°c (when OC'd to 2.91ghz, now back to stock)
Vcore: 1.16v... temps down to 70°c(still too warm for comfort)

Cooling: Scythe Ninja

I believe the Scythe may have gone defective(lost it's heatpipe charge), because it had been performing well until the past couple weeks. I'll be swapping out the hsf when times permits. I gave her -oneunit flag and shutdown the rig folding this morning.

I was testing a fanless heatsink for a review:

CPU Type: QX9650 @ 4000MHz
vCore: 1.40v
Max Temp: 90+c on all cores, 93c on the warmest
Cooling: At the time of the review, Scythe Orochi, no fan
Situation: Heatsink review, testing fanless
CPU Dead or Alive: Alive

Hehehe, wanted to see how it did! :D

I must say, I've NEVER seen/heard of a fanless heatsink create its own drafts! It was moving around 10-20 cfm by itself o_O

CPU Type: Q6600@ 3950MHz
vCore: 1.65v p5k deluxe spitting out cpu overvoltage warnings
Max Temp: 75c i think.. maybe 85.. i was intoxicated :beer:
Cooling: thermalright ultra120 extreme
Situation: overclocking while intoxicated= no fear.
CPU Dead or Alive: Alive
