My Specs are :

i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz with Cooler Master Hyper 212 +
GA-Z68XP-UD3 (rev. 1.0) Motherboard with F10 Bios
ZALMAN Z11 Case
Corsair GS 600 PSU
8GB Memory (Ballistix HERE)
2 x 1TB HDD's WD Blue and Green
1 x DVDRW
GTX 550 Ti Card

With the specs mentioned above I know its not a crazy setup but it does me so far...
What I want to know is how can I get to just 4.0-4.2GHz Stable as I have read a few tutorials on various sites
but looking for someone that has the same specs as myself and is working ok

If so a how to please... noob :bang head
Thanks

Welcome!

Somewhere around 4.3-4.7Ghz...

In my signature is a link to a quick guide (sandy/ivybridge o/c guide)... check that out! Cookie cutter settings are not guaranteed to work, its really best to do it yourself. That said, add .15 on to your core voltage set 4.2Ghz and test. But really, its best to learn what you are doing...

Thanks for that in theory it sounds great but its when I am in the Bios it doesnt look right ie.. numbers everywhere
Just not sure in what to change on various pages with this mobo as I mentioned just to 4GHz will do fine

So with the specs I mentioned I should get to that and above if I wanted, yes?

If I post screenshots of bios pages could you guys tell me what to change?

I took notes on some changes need to do this but just to confirm...

Core Current Limit - 300
ISS - Disabled
Vcore - Auto
Multiplyer - x43 or x44
LLC - Enabled and at Level 5
Spread Spectrum - Disabled

Someone mentioned an a program that I could use to do this without touching the bios is this recommended?

Sorry its all questions, just would like to know

Read the guide... it tells you exactly what you need to change.

As I already said, vcore and the multiplier is all you need to change at that level.

If I try and Install Easy Tune 6 I get 1528 Failed Installation everytime from either Official website or other sites...:(

I have read the Guide you have in your signature which makes good sense but in my Bios I get lost
Here are some screenshots if you could assist me please, there are all defaults

Where are you lost at?

You need to change the multiplier (I would check FREQUENCY Settings) and the vcore (I would look in VOLTAGE Settings). You have to get familiar with the bios... we cannot hit the buttons for you friend. :)

Yeah I know its just when you access certain tabs and see the numbers my brain gets fried :)

So just multiplier and Vcore and thats it?

No probs thought it was just the CPU Clock Ratio and CPU VCore as in pics

ok in Bios I have

jt2z5v.jpg

afcytw.jpg

xpx5r5.jpg

So Just thought I would report back before making changes

So change ...

CPU Clock Ratio : x42 which is roughly what I want
Intel Turbo Boost Tech : All to Disable
CPU VCore : Auto or 1.32

When I try to follow your guide I am not sure in what to amend
Like Performance Enhance to Standard or leave on Turbo as its a Red warning sign on the right if left on Turbo

OK heres what i Have done if it makes sense

I cant see 3rd party hosted pictures at the office. Host here at the site...Also, I merged the double post (you can edit your post to add, note).

That said, if you did not go to Torture test then select Small FFT it is not right. :)

Not sure in which setting with Prime it says at the top Self Test with Worker 1 to 4 and checking passes I think
