I still use an N5...Its a great phone and will do everything you need. Its plenty fast with its lack of skin.
Go to Settings/About Phone tap it 7 times or more and it will enable Developer options. Find the animation settings and reduce them to 1 or .05 and your phone will be as fast as anyones.
