Anyone else excited for the new SB750s? Anand results!

I can't wait! I'm ordering my 9950 on Tuesday I'm really really hoping these boards are as good as we're hoping, I've thought about going over to Intel for my new rig but I still <3 my AMD too much, hopefully our phenoms will finally clock well the new chipset

Any way here's a preview of a Foxconn A79A-S with a SB750 in it, looks like they might be getting ready to release a review on it. One thing though, does anyone know if the new AOD software comes with the board? or is it to be updated at a later date when the SB750's hit? I'll update this thread off and on with some new SB750 info as well if wanted =D

I'm ready for these puppies to be released. All i need for my new system is a sb750 based mobo and i'm set. Then i'm gonna have some fun overclocking my 9950 :D

I'm with Kuroimaho on this one. Lets wait for these puppies to be in people's hands before we start drooling all over them. That guy at XS said he was only on air and was using 1.55v. Thats a LOT of voltage. That and he didn't even increase the HTT. It looks like he just raised the multi. So us overclockers really need someone with a decent water setup that has time and knows what they're doing to really see what all the SB750 has to offer. If it can really bring the Phenom up to par or at least much closer to Intel in the performance arena, I'll be very happy.

I really wanna see how much these "six magic unused pins" work and how far they will actually Auto OC i've heard 200-400 Mhz on top of an OC <cross's fingers>

Didn't the 790 DS5/DS4 have the same PWM ?
Yea it does. i should have looked a little close at their current models instead of just glancing at them. I'm only planning on waiting a couple more weeks for the sb750 boards, otherwise i'll settle with a 790fx/780g.

That's why I am waiting out as well, the prices for 790 mobos are so low even for the highest end parts that the SB750 has to make miracles to make up for a 100$ higher price the new mobos will go for at least at launch.

Out of curiosity, if the SB750 is indeed the problem with OCing Phenoms, why do the 780a Nvidia chipsets seem to reach around the same clockspeeds?

There is nothing wrong with the SB750, it is an improvement over the previous chipsets. It most likely enables settings which improve stability of the cpu proably via better more stable signals, timings.

Can't wait for it. At the end of the year I might upgrade my main PC to a Phenom. Once they hit 45nm I'll definitely upgrade.

i read somewhere the release is the 29th. I'm not sure how accurate the info is but i hope it's true.

I hope they can do a bit better than that preview .
Not that it isn't a nice jump, I just couldn't justify spending 200$+ on an SB750 mobo when secondhand 790s go for 100$.
