ASUS Crosshair III vs 870 Extreme3 R2.0

Well im a noob to motherboards...
All the descriptions say ''excellent for oc'ing'' ect.

The only difference I can tell is that the extreme as usb 3.0.

Im building a budget pc and I get to pick out of these two.

First, where are you finding these boards?

Second, for a budget build, I'd choose a 970 extreme3, and not just because I have one, but it has UEFI, it's good for overclocking, and it costs about $90 brand new.

ASUS Crosshair III = much older 7xx series chipset.

870 Extreme3 R2.0 = uses a newer 8xx series chipset although not the top of the line chipset like the CH3 did in its' heyday.

I would think the later chipet would do better with a later Phenom 2 type cpu than the CH3 might. But it really is a tossup if you are going to use a Phenom 2 cpu.
