Hello guys,

I just ran a 3Dmark test on my friend's video card (9700 Pro) and I got a score of only 4250. Now I'm new to 3Dmark so I am not completely sure if this is normal, but after surfing through some posts, I think that it's substantially lower than what it should be.

Rig specs-
Athlon XP 2100
512MB PC 2700 Kingston
Gigabyte KT400 chipset mobo

I have no idea why this is happening. I have the latest drivers along with DirectX 9.

Thanks

it sounds pretty much spot on. may i suggest you try 3dmark2001se aswell - it will give you a much beter indication of the systems performance - 2003 only really tests the graphics card, and doesnt tell you much else.

That doesnt sound right to me either. I have a 2100xp@1860ghz, Gigabyte 7vax KT400 and a 9700np@344/310.5 at the moment and just did a benchmark again. Here's what I got:

Game 1 - Car Chase (low detail) - fps 150.7
Game 1 - Car Chase (high detail) - fps 49.9
Game 2 - Dragothic (low detail) - fps 224.3
Game 2 - Dragothic (high detail) - fps 117.8
Game 3 - Lobby (low detail) - fps 135.3
Game 3 - Lobby (high detail) - fps 58.3
Game 4 - Nature - fps 109.6
Fill Rate (single texturing) - MTexels/s 1817.0
Fill Rate (multi-texturing) - MTexels/s 2707.8
High Poygon Count (1 light) - MTriangles/s 39.4
High Poygon Count (8 lights) - MTriangles/s 16.4
Environment Bump Mapping - fps 197.3
DOT3 Bump Mapping - fps 209.2
Vertex Shader - fps 152.5
Pixel Shader - fps 141.3
Advanced Pixel Shader - fps 204.9
Point Sprites - MSprites/s 39.9
Total 2DMark 2001 score 11815

*I used Catalyst 3.4 drivers

U look like u have the same configuration as I do for my AMD except u have the Pro version of the 9700 and better ram than I do. I have Samsung. (it was cheap ok?) That 4200 score of yours is unusually low. Unless that is the score u got from 3DMark2003. In which case the score may not be that odd afterall.
