remember me saying the r420 will have 12 pipes? you guys doubted me but I was right! Now I am gonna go on a limb and say 24 pipes is *probable* for the r520 with 32 pipes somewhat of a possibilty. Also there is talks of it being 512mb and 512 bit ram. 110nm will be used, maybe even 90nm. 500/1000 clocks or higher should be expected. If the ram happens to be only 256 bits then it may be 1.2ns ram at 800MHz, if 512 bits then probably slower 2ns and cheaper as well. Common sense tells us that each new generation of card is more than twice the performance of previous gen.

8500--------->9700 pro
9800xt--------->x800xt
x900xt-------->fudo r520

9800 pro and the like were just refreshes. we will see the r480 as the refresh to the r420 which is likley to be nothing more than a pci-e verson of the r420 and/or slightly higher clocks. 1.4ns of 700MHz ram has been hinted as well as a slightly faster 550MHz core. Good for a small boost like the 9800pro to xt was for example but nothing groundbreaking. wonder what the fudo will be called? X1000xt? XL100xt? some entirely new numbering scheme such as radeon 15kpro and 15kxt?

Fudo is in the works, however I am not entirly sure what kind of pipes it will use. I think they may keep 16, since they are only now adding PS3.

I think it is far more likely for nV to add more pipes than ATi. However ATi might go for 512bit RAM. But thats gonna cost a fortune, especially if it had 512MB

that would be amazing if it added 512 mb of ram, i would hope they would at leas notch it up to 24 pipes, it would improve performance some at least....

PS3 and 24 pipelines, wow the transistor count would increase a lot not mention the heat output. Hope the design is a smart one. Dual core anyone?
