I ran some benchmarks on the following set-up:
Hyper-pi 1M, 1 thread only
15.532 sec
x264 HD BENCHMARK 4.0 RESULTS
Windows XP SP3
Pass 1: 60.57 FPS
Pass 2: 11.00 FPS
Windows 7 SP1 x64
Pass 1: 59.83 FPS
Pass 2: 10.96 FPS
x264 HD BENCHMARK 5.0 RESULTS (32-bit)
Windows 7 SP1 x64
Pass 1: 22.46 FPS
Pass 2: 3.92 FPS
x264 HD BENCHMARK 5.0 RESULTS (32-bit)
Windows XP SP3
(Average of only the 1st 2 runs)
Pass 1: 21.47 FPS
Pass 2: 3.92 FPS
Final Fantasy XIV benchmark (1280x720)
*I tried the same benchmark in Windows XP SP3 and got only 250 points.
Maybe it was because Win XP supports only up to DirectX 9.0c
The G550 is one nice power efficient chip!
May upload more results later (don't have all with me now).
