Hi,
I'm putting together a system from old parts. the CPU is a old P4 1.7, the problem is some of the pins are bent on the cpu, if I straighten out the pins so they fit in the CPU socket on the motherboard, will it run?

you *shouldn't* have any problems, but stressing the metal can hurt conductivity.

i dont' forsee any problems if you do it carefully

Hi Guys,

Ok, the cpu will go in the motherboard socket with a little push, the CPU had about 12 bent pins on two sides.
Ive straighten out the pins, as best I can, they look straight to my eyes.
The CPU didnt go as freely into the socket as a CPU without bent pins would, but it's in now.

Thanks for the help
