Well, I know some people like to hold on to there secrets like a fat girl holding onto a jelly dognut, but for the sake of us noobs I was hoping we could gather some useful tips for new players to make O/Cers a kickass group of players (all O/Cers).
To start it off:
Here are a few things I've learned in my brief experience.
1) You must have a decent ping time...MUST!
2) A good optical mouse will improve acuracy vastly (trackball blow, I was using one up until a few days ago).
3) Keep moving!!!!!! Snippers are always wait for you to stop even for a second.
4) EDIT: oops! If you pick up someone else gear with the G key you loose your own stuff
5) Hit tanks in the rear with the granade launcher. I try to hit the rear undercarage if possible. You can take out a Tiger in 2 and the lighter tanks in 1 shot.
6) To avoid #6 get someone to cover your butt if your in a tank.
7) Oh yeah, heavy tanks will kick the snot out of light tanks in a shot out. Don't sit still.
8) engineers can fix things with the wrench (#6 key). Also you can rebuild an AA gun that has been completely wiped out.
9) Thanks to this site. When shooting down those damn planes lead with your machine gun. Not sure if you need to lead with AA guns I used a mixture of leading and direct fire and got decent results.
10) If you are right next to a tank it can't shoot you with the maching gun.
11) snipers seem to always pick the most obvious spot like the highest point in a window or windmill, etc. Try to find a spot thats not so obvious and look in spots that aren't as obvious for good snippers.
12) Scouts/snipers have binoculars (sp?) to spot targets for artilery. You look trhough the binoculars and click the left mouse button and the artilery person can see what you see for 2 minutes. You don't need to maintane the view, so once you click head for cover. Don't spot again until its requested. You end up changing the artilery guy's view while he is trying to shoot something and it screws his shot up if you do. Also, that tank with the gun that only turns horizontally 20-30 degrees is an artilery gun and has a long range so don't drive it into the middle of a tank battle and DON'T MOVE IT OR SHIPS WHILE SOMEONE IS SHOTTING!!!!! There are a lot of idiots that use the mobile artilery for transportation or think its cute to drive the ships with artilery guns. Don't.
Well, me experience is pretty limited, so more tips and insight would be greatly appreciated.
Tips on stratgy and team play are good to as noone wants to play as a team and it is the hardest thing to learn.

Grimdeath's BF1942 Engineers Tips:
IMHO, Engineers are one of the coolest classes to play.
1) 0% Friendly fire and an Engineer are a great combination (EA servers are great!)
2) Drop expacks at your feet while running from enemies and detonate them (0% FF required).
3) Use expacks to propel you up hills and onto building you can't normally get into (0% FF required). Open your parachute to touch down when necessary to avoid falling damage.
4) Wait for that guy in the jeep who's trying to run you over and drop a mine in front of you right before he hits you.
5) Drop mines in/on unoccupied enemy vehicles (ex. back of a jeep) (they will detonate when someone gets in and moves it).
6) Drop expacks at enemy spawn points and detonate them when they spawn. This is especially helpful when you are trying to take an enemy checkpoint and they are still spawning.
7) Learn to lead your shots with your rifle (it's the sniper rifle minus the zoom). Its a one shot kill to the head.
8) Two expacks thrown on top of any tank and detonated will destroy the tank.
9) Run and jump at the same time you throw an expack to toss it farther.
10) A lot of time a tank sees you get close to it carrying an expack the enemy will panic if he's a noob, bail-out, and try to shoot you himself. Simply jump in his tank and drive away (then kill him with his own tank).
11) Toss a few expacks in the back of your jeep and then ram it into an enemy tank (of course, exiting the vehicle before it impacts). If that didn't finish off the tank, just explode your expacks.
12) If you drop an expack on an air vent on top of a bunker it will fall to the floor inside the bunker; they'll never know what hit them.
Unrelated,
13) To use AA effectively you MUST lead your shots. The exploding puffs you see are the shells detonating; these do the damage. The color of the puffs indicates whether you hit or not. Dark black is a direct hit. Try to lead your shots so that the shells detonate on the aircraft. You will take them down every time.
14) AA guns are very effective at taking out jeeps, artilliary and personel carriers.
Anyone have any team play tips?
