ED's idea worked out, I decreased the memory clock to 1576 which enabled me to raise the
core clock to 1203 Mhz.

Zotac's Firestorm utility is not showing the true memory clock, for some reason when I overclock the core to anything over 1200 Mhz it always shows the memory clock as running at 1749 Mhz -- even when it's not running at that clock speed.
