I have 2 120mm fans for my radiator which I just tied into one molex connector and plugged in to see how they sound.

Well they are LOUD! way loud, they make a kinda "whirring" sound...not cool!

Can I position a POTention meter inbetween the fans and molex?
AND.. Do you think my rad will be efficient while running both fans at say half speed?

thanks in advance for your replys!

the sound could either be the fans, vibtration from the fans against the rad or the sound of air going through the rad.

Try putting 1 fan on half and see if that works..

The answer to your first question is yes. You can use a rheostat to slow down the fans. The answer to your second question is try it. A rheostat is fairly cheap and if it doesn't work to your satisfaction, you can just turn it up to full speed or remove it.
