Cathode or LED for UV?

I'm eyeing Cablemods UV Magnetic LED strips but I read a lot about how UV LED strips don't compare to cathodes.
I plan to use Mayhems X1 UV coolant and it states that it is not compatible with UV LED strips. Is the Cablemod UV LED strip good enough for this?
The only reason I ask is I know Cablemod LED strips are nice, I have an RGB strip atm. in my current PC.
I had a couple UV LED strips from Phobya a couple years back and they were garbage.

ive got Cablemods UV/RGB Magnetic LEDs in my case and i would have to give a big vote for cathodes. the cablemods are great for rgb but for uv they arent anywhere close to a cold cathode.
