Okay, I'm helping a friend build his first computer, I helped him pick out the parts, but I love running it by you guys to see if theres anything i've missed or any better choices I'm not taking advantage of, or to see if something isn't compatible with another item that I was too stupid to notice.

This is a Budget computer built for heavy mmorpg gaming. Games like SC2 and Diablo3 would need to run on it well.
I did the best I could in choices based on his $750 budget. :chair:

Again, i'm pretty sure everything is compatible and will fit in the motherboard correctly, it should all be the correct sockets and all.... I'm hoping I did this right :p

Thanks in advance for anyone willing to give advice on this build! :D

Build this

M4A980 Asus mobo
Phenom II x4 955BE chip
4GB Corsair XMS 3 1600Mhz
1TB WD Black 64MB Cache
Antec 300 Illusion Case
Antec CX 600W PSU
AMD 6850 graphics or > GTX 470 or > GTX 560 depending on $$

If I was going AMD, then I would probably go with a Phenom II x4 CPU and DDR3 RAM. Something like the pic below or like Theocnoob's post:

We still need to know:

Will he be overclocking at all? What resolution will he be gaming?

Chances are there will be no over clocking and 1280x1024 resolution

And just a quick question the combo deal does not come with a harddrive or a OS am i right?

OS and GPU aren't included in the combo that bda1967 posted. An OS isn't included in any of our suggestions...so I'm guessing you don't have an OS and need one included? Win7 x64 will run about $135 by itself...
