I've been trying to nail together a watercooled system. I'm going to use watercooling on my CPU and 2 GPUs. I've been reading different guides all nights and asking questions in a couple of forums, still I can't seem to get a straight answer.

These are the parts I've chosen so far for my watercooling kit:

Radiator: http://www.jab-tech.com/Black-Ice-GTX-360-Radiator-pr-3613.html
Pump: http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-MCP-355-12v-DC-Pump-pr-3510.html
CPU Block: http://www.jab-tech.com/EK-Supreme-HF-Full-Copper-pr-4790.html
Reservoir: http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-MCRES-Micro-Rev-2-pr-4312.html
Tube: http://www.jab-tech.com/PrimoFlex-Pro-LRT-UV-Green-Tubing-1-2in.-ID-X-3-4in.-OD-pr-4595.html
Compression Fittings: http://www.jab-tech.com/Bitspower-T...-Fitting-1-2-to-3-4-BP-SLCPF-CC5-pr-4400.html
Coolant: Distilled water.
Biocide: I don't know where or how to get some, but I've heared that Kill Coil is good.

The problem I have right now is that I don't know how many Compression fittings I'm going to need, or if I need any at all, or that if I should get barbed fittings instead.

I would really appriciate it if someone would clear this up for me. Thanks.

Hey,
Its 4:10 am here so if my answer is a little mixed please forgive me.
Anyway you can count up how many things you need. a cpu block needs 2, rad ussualy is 2 unless its custom or something... and so on. There is no difference between barbed and compression fittings other then their price and their look. I would personally just get barbed as it is cheaper but if you wanna spend more money go ahead.

Thank you. That clear things up rather well. I've ordered the necessary parts.

Jab carries strips of silver, but you don't really need one because you have the true silver fittings, which are supposed to have the same effect.

Those fittings are pretty sweet, what a cool idea :) I thought they would cost a lot more! I only use silver coils (one per loop) and my system has been clean since September.

It should be noted that compression fittings a little trickier to tighten, especially in tight spots like waterblocks. Also, don't forget to slip the locking ring on first ;)

On a side note, I was doing some research on using silver for an outdoor water fountain... read that the reaction between copper and silver make an even better algaecide.
