Hi,

Is it useful to oc the uncore /cache besides benching purposes? I read it does not affect much performances.

I have a 8086k@5GHz and 47 uncore.

Does reducing uncore can lower temperature?

Thanks

cache has little or no effect on performance.
It can impact your clock because it impacts tdp.
It can cause the system to become unstable.
It can effect die temp to A small degree.
On my 8086K and all my Intel I just leave cache on auto.

And what is the value of auto? I've set it up at 47 right now, should i leave on auto too or go for 45 for instance

If you are stable with it at 4.7, leave it there.
cache on auto varies by cpu and motherbard bios.
all I do is set mine 2 below the cpu clock and ignore it.

cpu cache holds data that is sent to your system memory, and it appears to always be much, much faster than the system memory.
I just think of it as on die memory, with which the only thing I've ever been able to do with it is make my system unstable.
