hey guys first time poster here, and i was hoping i could get a few questions answered about some cooling options for my recently built modest gaming rig

first off, i have heard that some after market CPU coolers do not fit in the Raidmax smiliodon case. i have the Extreme Black edition if that makes a difference. Would the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 fit in my case along with the side panel fan the case comes with? i believe the side panel fan is 80x80x25. and if it will not fit with the fan, are there other slimmer fans i could use with this cooler?

Freezer 7: http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/cooling/cpu/4/freezer-7-pro-rev.-2.html?c=2181

Also, If that cooler will fit in my case will it block one of the RAM slots? My mobo is an Asrock 990fx Extreme4. according to the link above the only 2 ways to mount this cooler on an AMD mobo leaves all 4 memory slots open for use. i currently have 8gb (2 x 4gb) of Corsair Vengence but plan on upgrading to 16gb 94 x 4gb) soon so i would like all 4 RAM slots open for use if at all possible.

Also, i was thinking about getting a PCI slot case cooler as a secondary exhaust option to clear out the hot air under my Video card. Would this be worth it or is there a better option for removing said hot air?

Cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835888309

Video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125353

and i think that about wraps it up. Note that i am not dead set on buying any of these items and open to any suggestions that will improve air flow and cooling in my current rig.

Any help would be greatly aprreciated! :attn:

EDIT: forgot one thing, would the Freezer 7 even be that much better than the stock HSF that came with my AMD Phenom II x4 BE 965?

:welcome: to the forums!

I'm not sure about space in that case, the Extreme Black (thermalright 120) needs 160mm of height. That case is ~203mm wide.

As for the PCI slot cooler, I wouldn't put it in the slot right under the card, it may rob the video card of some of its air intake. That said, your case isn't all that tiny, having a good intake and exhaust fan alone would be enough.

Thanks for the reply nightelph,

Would it make a difference if i installed the PCI cooler in the lower of the 2 PCI slots allowing 2 empty slots for air flow? The only reason i am looking into one of these is because the program i use to monitor system temps (speedfan) gives me a fire symbol next to my gpu after a gaming sesh. it never goes above 60deg C, but this is my first build and i have no idea if thats hot enough to damage anything or not.
