The board needs a BIOS update for compatibility w/ the X6.

You'll have to check with DFI to see if they've released a new BOIS for the X6 CPUs. Some manufacturers have already done so for some boards, other board's BOIS have yet to be updated and may never be. DFI's webpage for your motherboard should have a CPU compatibility list ...

The MSI 790FX GD-70 is capable of accepting the Thuban cpu's w update to 1.1 bios. I am looking at dropping a 1055T into mine. Linus from tech tips at ncix.com shows a 1055 on Asus 890GX board hitting 4ghz very easy, i wanna give it a shot on my 790FX before I consider getting a 890 board as the GD-70 has been excellent!

Good luck with the DFI I expect a bios update will allow it to work with 1055 or 1090
