HI I have a DFI lanparty ut nForce3 250 Gb mobo and would like to know what is a safe setting for the chipset Voltage . curently over clocking the heck out of this and have the chipset voltage up to 1.64 - 1.66 that is what smartguardin is telling me . I have corsair twinX XMS pro memory Over volted to 2.59-2.6 and have the A64 3200+ CPU Running at CPU Clock 2584.57 MHz . the system seems to running fully stable at thies settings .

any help is greatly appretiated thank you..
one more thing can any one please help me get the most out of this system.
the DFI mobo has so many settings that I am confused as to what to do. the stabilaty of this setup is not good had to take it back down to 2508Mhz the Vcore and memory are still my main ishues here and I realy could use some expert advice on how I can get this rig up to the max . it was much easyer when I had th 3200+XP AMD chip . now it is all but impossable for me . this is why I turn to you all . thank you very much and hope to hear some thing from you all soon..

you mean to tell me that there isn't one person in this forum that can help me out ? what is that all about????

I have 4 fans in the thing and well the zalman cnps7000n for the HSF should be ok. tell me this when I set it to that 1.6V the smartgaurdian goes red is that going to be a problem?

I have the exact same board (no duh) but a Newcastle 3000+ and it's running at 245 X 10 = 2450 with 1.550 VID + 113% = 1.71 Vcore so you're temps are good.

I'm having trouble setting up the network and also changing the multiplier settings.
I can't seem to move away from the stock setting of 10 even going lower, so I"m envious you've pushed it to a 11.

How do I do this?

yes I have the latest bios . I also am having realy high temps on my memory twinx1024-3200c2pro is what I have and I am getting 52c when I run sandra bench mark burn in . just hope that is ok it goes back down to 41c I am thinking of adding a fan near the memory chips to cool them off what do you all think? fyi the dram voltage is set to 2.67-2.7 as per the smartguardin and is in the white color does not go red so must be ok right? thank you for you input so far it is great as I am learnning a ton ..

meh, the temp reading with smartguardian are totally off for the CPU temp so just check for stability. I would pretty much ignore smartguardian - I mean you can use it for a guide, but don't put a lot of faith in it.

You have three readings: 1. CPU temp. 2. motherboard temp (sensor is probably around the CPU/RAM sockets) 3. Case temp (usually around the bottom of the motherboard closest to the front of the case).

ok just got this up to 2.6Ghz man it is smokin fast too. at any rate did sandra burn in and went blue screen at vdim set to 1.550v and 140above reset it to 110% above and smartguardin is sayin that the Vcore is at 1.69-1.7v (red too) htt is at 238. sofar at this setting ,sandra ran fine no blue screen . what can I do now to test it further? and one have an Idea on this , prime95 wont work at all when you O/C it just tells you there is a problem no matter what I do so that is not going to work. but I will post the new spec's here shortly and you can see what may need to change or not ok thank you very much again you guys rock!!!

Matt I was wondering if I could get your help.

I've been able to run everythign stable at only 2450 and the specs mentioned in my sig down below, but I'd like to get something like yours.

What are the settings that you use? HTT? Vcore? etc.
Do you need me to show you CPU-Z?

Would appreciate the overclocking help.

ok here it is ...

ok have doom 3 will try all them out here and see
thank you ..

played doomIII for 45 min and never better runs like a charm!! guess it is fully stable . what do you think?

Well a lot of people out there are avid geeks and they require hours upon hours of system stability to be statisfied.

So it all really depends on your tastes. If you want your overclocked system for long hours of gaming, you decide whether a test for an hour or 3 or 6 is sufficient.

If it lasts 45 minutes, I'd say it's pretty stable.. at least stable enough for me.
Most people would experience some instability (if not a crash) 10-15 minutes into it, so yours is quite good.

What are you settings under the Genie BIOS if I may ask?

well Ijust set the FSB/HTT to 238 and then set the voltage up put the first voltage setting in the bios vcore to 1.55v the second vdim to 110% above to get the 1.69v-1.7v for the vcore. set the chipset core to 1.7V (smartgaurdian 1.66v) and then set the memory voltage to 2.7v (smartguardian 2.68v) and that was it. been running all night and no crash so yeah I am happy at this stabilaty.

Thanks for the info!
I just found out the reason why your 200 mhz faster than mine is simply because of the 3200+ coming with a stock multiplier of 11.0X whereas mine (3000+) comes with 10.0X.

They can be lower unlocked (10,9.8. etc) but not upper unlocked.
Good job!
