I'll fully admit I'm one of those geeks that likes to do the 3+ hours of error checking (mostly because there have been times when I've done 4+ hours worth of matches in BF1942). Best stability checker I found for CPU/Mobo/RAM is Prime95. Usually I'll do 30 minutes for every 5 Mhz the FSB will go up, do an hour for every 20 Mhz, and finally when I find something I like (at present 260 FSB, OCZ PL 3200 @ 1:1, 2.5-3-3-10, 2.8V (best. RAM. EVAR!), 3000+ @ 2300Mhz, 1.6V) I'll leave Prime95 on overnight. If it can do 6+ hours of it with no errors, I'm satisfied.

Some say I'm anal, but I just think of it as being thorough. Last thing I want is a BSOD in the middle of a match, or when I'm trying to watch a movie being fed from my PC to my TV.

Get Prime95 @ http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm
