For almost 3 years, Intel hasn't come up with a CPU that really steps up the performance over a 2500K. The best they could do was claiming gimmicks such as "power saving". Yeah like 77w vs 95w on a desktop is such a big deal.
I don't know if it's really a good thing or bad thing though. The sad part is that technology is stalling and the fun of building rigs/overclocking etc will eventually stall, too. The good part is I no longer have to spend $$$ year to upgrade. I remember the 90's and early 2000's when they released a faster CPU every other week and made you constantly itchy for upgrades. Good old days.
